Method

How the work is made

Outpost publishes at low frequency by design. Pieces are released when the analysis is complete, not on a fixed cadence. Each one reflects months of research and, often, years of operational practice. The writing is done by hand. AI tools are used for research, structure, visual production, and editorial correction, but not for the writing itself. The thesis behind this discipline is simple: as AI commoditises shallow content, slow and rigorous work compounds in value. Outpost deliberately does not participate in the content treadmill: high volume in exchange for visibility. The work it produces cannot be made that way.

Sourcing

Outpost draws on a combination of public industry data, partner data sets (some confidential), expert interviews, owned data and databases, and ten years of private research and operational practice. Where appropriate, sources are named in the text or in the method note at the foot of each piece.

Independence

All editorial work is unpaid, unsponsored, and non-promotional. Outpost does not accept advertising. Andrés Lauer and Julian Mazoteras take on advisory, board, and deal-side engagements independently of the publication. These are disclosed at the foot of any piece where they are relevant.

Method note

Every long-form piece carries a short method note at its foot, listing tools used, primary sources, and any commercial disclosures relevant to the piece.
